Benjamin Kusi
BOARD CHAIRMAN
Benjamin Kusi is the Country Director of Self-Help International (SHI) Ghana, a non-profit organization dedicated to alleviating hunger and poverty by helping people help themselves. He provides strategic leadership for SHI’s programs in agriculture and entrepreneurship development, nutrition, and the empowerment of women and girls.
With extensive experience in non-profit leadership and community development, Benjamin has worked with communities and partners across the length and breadth of Ghana to promote sustainable livelihoods, improve nutrition, strengthen local capacity, and expand opportunities for vulnerable groups. Under his leadership, SHI Ghana collaborates with local and international partners to implement practical, community-driven solutions to hunger and poverty.
Mohammed Rufai Musah
FOUNDER | EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Mohammed Rufai Musah is a development and governance professional with fifteen years of experience across Ghana’s public and non-profit sectors. He is the Founder and Executive Director of Savannah WOYE, a Ghanaian non-governmental organisation working to improve the lives of underserved communities in the savannah belt and beyond through community empowerment, human development and environmental stewardship. He also serves as Deputy Director, Monitoring & Evaluation at the National Secretariat of the Ghana School Feeding Programme, Ghana’s flagship social protection intervention.
His expertise spans institutional strengthening, policy analysis, monitoring and evaluation, and multi-stakeholder coordination. He holds a Bachelor of Technology in Procurement and Supply Chain Management from Accra Technical University and a master’s in governance and leadership at Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administratioin (GIMPA). He is committed to inclusive, community-owned development in which social progress and environmental sustainability advance together.
David Alfred Mensah
EXECUTIVE SECRETARY
David Alfred Mensah is an agricultural development specialist with over 20 years of professional experience in agricultural extension, agribusiness development, project management, policy implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and rural development in Ghana. He currently serves as the District Director of Agriculture for the Adansi South District under the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA), providing strategic leadership in agricultural planning, extension service delivery, stakeholder coordination and sustainable agricultural development.
Mr. Mensah holds a Master of Science (MSc) in NGO Studies and Management and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Agriculture from the University of Cape Coast. Throughout his career, he has led and supported the district-level implementation of several national and donor-funded agricultural development programmes, including the Planting for Food and Jobs Programme (PFJ), West Africa Agricultural Productivity Programme (WAAPP), Modernization of Agriculture in Ghana (MAG), Food Systems Resilience Project (FSRP), Ghana Productive Safety Net Project (GPSNP), Integrated Rural Development Project (IRDP), and the Ghana Landscape Restoration and Small-Scale Mining Project and Feed Ghana Programme
David Alfred Mensah is recognized for his strategic leadership, integrity, technical expertise, and commitment to improving the livelihoods of farming communities through innovation, partnerships and sustainable agricultural transformation.
Atchulo Azara
PROJECT MANAGER (WiSA)
Results-oriented agricultural professional with over 18 years of progressive experience in agricultural extension, post-harvest management, gender and agricultural development, market information systems, and rural livelihoods. Currently serving as the Regional Women in Agricultural Development (WIAD) Officer with the Regional Agriculture Department (RAD), providing strategic leadership in the planning, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of regional WIAD programmes.
Holds an MPhil in Post-Harvest Management from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), a BSc in Agricultural Extension from the University of Cape Coast (UCC), and Agricultural Engineering in Higher National Diploma (HND) from Tamale Technical University (TTU). Demonstrates extensive expertise in agricultural extension, post-harvest loss reduction, value addition, agribusiness development, nutrition education, gender mainstreaming, stakeholder engagement, capacity building, project coordination, and monitoring and evaluation.
Joined the Ministry of Food and Agriculture in 2008 as an Agricultural Extension Agent (AEA), delivering extension services and promoting improved agricultural technologies among farming communities. A highly motivated, analytical, and collaborative professional with proven leadership, communication, training, and programme management skills, committed to advancing inclusive agricultural development and empowering women and youth through innovative and sustainable agricultural interventions.
